Both myself and Miss Crumpler have been overwhelmed by the number of applications for the School Ambassador positions. This is wonderful news and tells us all that our pupils want to be the next generation of leaders. Our aim is for the Ambassadors to work with the staff and the children across the school supporting, helping and leading others. They will take on specific roles across each term. It is a really achievement to be chosen to represent the school as an Ambassador and we feel that this role will help children show their leadership qualities. We will be appointing Ambassadors and informing pupils next Friday 12th November.
My name is Lorena and I work for the Mental Health Support Team in Kidderminster. I am an Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP). My job is to help children and young people who might be worrying about things too much, feeling down more than usual or may be struggling with other things such as panic, sleep or stress. I can also work with parents/carers and teachers. We all have mental health and looking after it is as important as our physical health. I look forward to meeting you all.
I am delighted that Lorena will be based at Saint Ambrose School every Tuesday and her first role will be to help us establish a Pastoral Team. The Pastoral Team will be:
Miss Holtom - Vice-Principal RSE and PSHE Lead
Mr Pitt - Senior Mental Health Lead
Mrs Price - SENDCo
Mrs Wallace - Nurture Lead
Lorena will also be establishing pupil, parent and staff focus groups to obtain views and formulate an action plan to support everyone at Saint Ambrose School. If you would like to join the parent focus group please email ebrocklesby@st-ambrose.worcs.sch.uk
On Thursday, our Y6 boys took part in some teamwork challenges with Joe from Wyre Forest Schools Sport Partnership. The boys really enjoyed solving the difficult challenges and it was fantastic to see them working together to tackle any obstacles in their way!

On Tuesday all children will have a session in school linked to the Emmaus Online Safety Policy. All children will then bring home an acceptable use of the school's ICT and internet agreement for pupils and parents. Please share and discuss the agreement and return the signed copy to school by Friday 19th November. Thank you in advance for your support to educate our children on the importance of online safety. The Emmaus Online Safety policy can be found in the policy section on our school website.
On Tuesday we will let you know of the times and dates for the schools Christmas celebrations. These will all take place in Church.

On Friday 12th November all children can come into school wearing their own clothes in exchange for a chocolate donation. Please send in chocolates on Friday and they will be donated to the Parish Christmas Fete for the chocolate tombola.

We will be taking part in Anti-Bullying Week from 15th November - 19th November and our theme is: 'One Kind Word'. During this week, we will provide children with a clear and positive message that bullying is not acceptable in schools and communities. We will encourage our pupils to show each other even more kindness and encourage them to participate in collective responsibility against bullying. To start off this important week, we will be inviting everyone to wear odd socks to school to help raise awareness of anti-bullying.
You are most welcome to join us in church now that Covid restrictions have been lifted. Alternatively you can join using the live-streaming facility. Please note if cases rise in the area we may make the decision to not attend Church and access Mass via the livestream-parents will be informed ASAP.
