This week I have received a letter from Mathew Morgan who leads the intercessory prayer network at Saint Ambrose. It provides parishioners the opportunity to leave intentions for the network to pray for throughout the week. Matthew would like to extend this opportunity to our school community and invites anyone to email prayer intentions to stambroseintercessors@gmail.com
This week our year 6 children went to the Pioneer Centre. They were fantastic Ambassadors and took part in team bonding activities and confidence building outdoor pursuits, plus had the experience of living together 24 hours a day.
A school residential trips form such an important part of growing up and is the perfect opportunity for a valuable learning experience.
It was wonderful to hear this week from numerous Parishioners how fantastic the Year Six Stations of the Cross performance was. Well done, Year Six.
We will be holding a Platinum Jubilee Garden Party on Thursday 26th May for all children in the afternoon. Children will be asked to dress in red, white and blue or dress up as Kings and Queens or Princesses. In preparation for the party children will make a crown in class. Next week you will receive a letter requesting you to send in an item of food for the party.
From next week children will have the opportunity to make bunting at lunchtime for the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations at the Mare and Colt pub in Kidderminster.
The things that are achieved by the children at our school are incredible. Members of our school represent numerous sports teams and clubs outside of school, as well as representing the school with great pride at various competitions.
This week I have heard:
Oscar S was man of the match for his football team
Ethan S was welcomed into the Church on Easter Saturday
Samuel S is being welcomed into the Church on Sunday
Well done, please email Mrs Brocklesby ebrocklesby@st-ambrose.worcs.sch.uk any achievements you would like us to share.

Before COVID our Summer Fete was a huge success and not only was it lots of fun but we raised a fantastic amount of money for the school! We are already planning ahead, have set the date and are looking forward to organising this year’s fete to be just as much fun, if not better!
KS2 started gardening club this week and we loved it! Our first task was to plant tomato plants, and when they are fully grown we are going to sell them to raise money to buy new soil!
Congratulations to Harriet in Year 1 for designing the winning Platinum Jubilee flowerbed. We can't wait to see your design in bloom.

Thank you to everyone for remembering the school gates open at 8.45 am and close at 9.00 am as we now no longer have a staggered start. If anyone arrives after 9.00 am they will need to come into school via the main office. Arriving before 9.00 am ensures no learning time is lost-thank you for your support.
For our charitable work this Lent, our House Captains have decided they would like to run a Readathon and would like all pupils to take part. They would like to raise money for the charity Read for Good which provides new books for children who are in hospital.
Please support your child’s sponsored readathon by helping them record all they have read on the Go Read app.
Should you wish to sponsor your child, you can do so by visiting the following website: https://readathon.secure.force.com/sponsor and family and friends can use it too.
Please ensure all sponsorship money is donated by Monday 2nd May.
For more information, check out your child’s sponsorship card and visit www.readforgood.org.

The Church is currently following a directive from Pope Francis to focus on reflection and sharing of the whole church. Pope Francis states,
"By walking together, and together reflecting on the journey made, the Church will be
able to learn from what it will experience which processes can help it to live
communion, to achieve participation, to open itself to mission."
At Saint Ambrose we aim to enable families to experience the wide parish Community and for us to reflect and learn please complete the survey, see link below. The results will be shared with the parish to enable us to grow and learn together.
PLEASE EMAIL ebrocklesby@st-ambrose.worcs.sch.uk if your son (years 4-6) would like to train as an altar server or your son or daughter (years 3-6) would like to read at Parish Masses.
Father Lamb extends a warm welcome to all families to continue to attend Mass. Please click on the link below which will take you to the Parish website where you can view historical newsletters and get information on Mass times.
