DATE: Friday 1st April 2022
As we come to the end of the Spring Term it has been wonderful to welcome parents back into school for assemblies, Masses and parent consultations. Next term I am delighted to say we will be inviting all parents to class reading workshops and curriculum workshops. Also parents of children in Year 1 will be invited to a phonics workshop and parents of children in Year 4 will be invited to a maths workshop. You will receive a letter about the workshops available and how to book a place on Tuesday 5th April.
PLEASE NOTE WE WILL NOT BE HOLDING A CELEBRATION ASSEMBLY ON MONDAY 4TH APRIL
At Saint Ambrose everyone recognises regular school attendance is an important part of giving children the best possible start in life. Thank you to everyone for remembering the school gates open at 8.45 am and close at 9.00 am as we now no longer have a staggered start. If anyone arrives after 9.00 am they will need to come into school via the main office. Arriving before 9.00 am ensures no learning time is lost-thank you for your support.
Year 2 have had a lovely day with Miss Poole making pizzas. Miss Poole taught us how to design our pizza. When we made them we enjoyed choosing our own toppings. We are looking forward to eating them for our tea! Afterwards we will evaluate our pizzas based on our original designs.
We made extra pizzas and gave them to Mrs Brocklesby, Miss Downs, Mrs Holder, Miss Gawthorp, Mrs Staite and Mrs Bishop. They all said they were absolutely delicious!!
On Tuesday 29 March, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Sajid Javid, set out the next steps for living with COVID-19 in England from Friday 1 April.
Updated guidance STATES:

They can go back to school, college or childcare when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend · adults with a positive COVID-19 test result should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days, which is when they are most infectious. For children and young people aged 18 and under, the advice is 3 days |

Over the past few weeks during assemblies we have been discussing the meaning of the Emmaus logo. The piece of writing below from Oscar identifies the meaning of the three parts of the e that you can see and the meaning of the cross and body of Christ at the centre of our logo.
Our children have grown up surrounded by technology and the internet. For them there isn't a difference between 'online' and 'offline', going online is just part of their everyday life.
Talking to your child regularly about what they're doing online is a good way to open up the conversation around how you can help to keep them safe. It also reminds them that you're there to support them if anything goes wrong. But we also know it can be hard to know where to start!
The NSPCC have developed a range of resources and activities to help you have these important conversations with your child. There are top tips to help keep your child safe online, a quiz to get you talking, and a word search. There's also a family agreement template to help the whole family be involved in making appropriate choices for online use. |
On Thursday, 8 Year 6 girls attended a netball tournament at Blessed Edward's College in Worcester with Miss Noble. The girls played three matches where they lost 3 and won their very last game 4-1. Miss Noble was extremely proud of their sportsmanship and perseverance as they didn't drop their heads once. It was a fantastic afternoon full of fun, sun and a little bit of snow.

The Church is currently following a directive from Pope Francis to focus on reflection and sharing of the whole church. Pope Francis states,
"By walking together, and together reflecting on the journey made, the Church will be
able to learn from what it will experience which processes can help it to live
communion, to achieve participation, to open itself to mission."
At Saint Ambrose we aim to enable families to experience the wide parish Community and for us to reflect and learn please complete the survey, see link below. The results will be shared with the parish to enable us to grow and learn together.
PLEASE EMAIL ebrocklesby@st-ambrose.worcs.sch.uk if your son (years 4-6) would like to train as an altar server or your son or daughter (years 3-6) would like to read at Parish Masses.
Father Lamb extends a warm welcome to all families to continue to attend Mass. Please click on the link below which will take you to the Parish website where you can view historical newsletters and get information on Mass times.
