THANK YOU

As the second week of the Spring Term comes to an end, I would like to thank everyone for supporting us this week as we experience a rise in COVID cases across the school. Thank you to everyone for protecting each other by following the guidance below.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has advised that it is important for anyone who might have been exposed to COVID-19 to complete daily testing so we can prevent its spread.

If your child does not have symptoms they can attend school as normal but if your child is a close contact please follow the steps below.

  1. Complete LFD testing with your child for 7 consecutive days.
  2. If your child tests positive they must then isolate and book a PCR test whilst they await the result.

EMMAUS MAC INSET DAY WEDNESDAY 2ND FEBRUARY

On Wednesday 2nd February Saint Ambrose will be closed to pupils along with all other Emmaus schools for a training day. The focus of the training day will be curriculum development.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

PIRATE LUNCH DAY

All children will come home today with a letter regarding a 'Pirate' themed lunch menu for Thursday 20th January. It is Census day on this day and our funding for next year relies on how many children specifically in Reception, Y1 and Y2 take a lunch on that day. If you order a lunch you are still welcome to send your child in with a lunchbox from home.

Please can we ask that you complete and return the form by Tuesday morning at the very latest.

HOME INSTEAD RECRUITMENT

Please see the job advert below. Home Instead are a company that offer care work and are recruiting a number of people in the new year. They offer flexible hours that can fit in with school.

THIS WEEK IN YEAR 1

Year One have been on a journey today visiting all the countries of the United Kingdom. Children created their own fact files and then sampled food from each country.  We tasted soda bread, jam tarts, Welsh cakes and Scottish shortbread. This is all part of our 'Once upon a Journey topic'. Take a look at our wonderful photos:

MASSES

This term, Father Lamb has kindly offered to celebrate Mass in school with our pupils. These will be special Masses where he will go through each part of the Mass with the children and answer any questions they have about it. This will enable all pupils to show the virtues of being curious and active and will be a wonderful opportunity for them. Unfortunately due to current COVID guidance parents/carers will not be able to attend Mass in school.
