DATE: Friday 12th November
Year 6 led the school in a poignant Remembrance Service this week. Following pupil feedback from last year's service to include more prayers, Year 6 asked each class to write their own class prayer to share after the two minute silence we all observed.
Year 6's Prayer:
Dear Father,
May we remember the people who have recently died - not just today but all those in war who gave their lives generously for us.
We ask that they may have great lives in heaven with God.
If it was not for them our lives would be very different today and for this we are so grateful. We pray that they all rest in peace in God's arms.
Amen
Year 5's Prayer:
Dear Lord,
May the world be silenced,
Today we take a moment to remember and give thanks to those who took the ultimate sacrifice.
Where there is fighting let there be peace,
Where there is sadness let there be smiles,
Show us how we can all get along and live beside each other and in your image,
Amen
Year 4's Prayer:
O God
Today we remember all those brave soldiers who gave their lives to protect our wonderful country.
Please help us to remember that we are made in Your image and likeness.
Let us always care for each other and show peace and love to everybody, just like You want us to.
Amen
Year 3's Prayer:
Dear Jesus,
Thank you for the soldiers who have made sacrifices to protect us.
We remember those soldiers who have died in the wars.
We also pray for their loved ones and their families.
Please keep our brave soldiers safe today.
We remember those we have lost and those who are injured.
Amen
Year 2's Prayer:
Dear God,
We remember all of the people who fought in war for us.
Please bless the families of the soldiers who died in the war to fight for their country.
Look after and bless everyone who is in the armed forces today.
May you watch over them and protect them.
We hope for peace in the future.
Amen
Year 1's Prayer:
Dear Lord,
We remember the war.
Thank you for looking after our country.
We pray for all the people who died.
Let's hope everyone in countries with a war are safe.
Amen

Printing Blocks!
We watched a video demonstrating how to make a printing block out of playdough, create patterns and texture using different equipment, and how to turn it into a printed pattern using printing ink.
Then we did it ourselves!
Our Changing World - Leaves!
We really enjoyed finding out all about the structure of leaves – how they are all different, their features.
Then we drew them and labelled what we could see!
Please see below the most recent parents booklet from Barnardo's.
Next week, we will be taking part in Anti-Bullying Week and our theme is: 'One Kind Word'. During this week, we will provide children with a clear and positive message that bullying is not acceptable in schools and communities. We will encourage our pupils to show each other even more kindness and encourage them to participate in collective responsibility against bullying. To start off this important week, we will be inviting everyone to wear odd socks on Monday to school to help raise awareness of anti-bullying.
Can we please remind you you to share and discuss the ICT fair use agreement with your child and return the signed copy to school by Friday 19th November.
