Following on from our children's early development of phonics knowledge in Reception, our pupils continue to be taught using Read, Write, Inc. Pupils in Year One and Year Two are 'grouped' according to their phonological awareness. Pupils are assessed periodically to ensure that they are being taught at an appropriate level.

This approach will continue into Year Three (lower Key Stage Two) for pupils requiring further phonics support.
