Year 1 Class Page

In the case of school being closed at short notice, this web page is the go-to for your child's learning to continue at home.

It contains a number of links to educational websites that St Ambrose children have access to (both free and subscribed), alongside a number of activities linked to all areas of the curriculum which children can complete at home.

Suggested Timetable:

We know it can be hard to stick to a routine, so we have provided you with a timetable as an idea of how you can structure your day.

You will see 'PE with Joe Wicks' timetabled at 9am every day.  Joe Wicks is a Body Coach, and he will be provided children of all ages with daily 30 minute PE lessons.  His videos will be published on his Youtube Channel, starting on Monday 23rd March (click the link below):

On-going Home Learning

Currently, in our Creative Curriculum lessons our topic is Superheroes.

Intergalactic greetings, young heroes. It’s time to rescue the planet from evil villains. Who’s your favourite superhero? Spiderman? Wonder Woman? Maybe your heroes are ordinary people who’ve achieved great things. Or is it those people who save lives in our emergency services that you admire most? Superheroes have super senses. Use yours to identify mystery items by their smell, taste, sound and touch. What do true superheroes eat to keep their senses and special powers sharp? Can we stop the dastardly plans of Professor Slime? He’s dropping his villainous instructions around town. We must stop people following them, but can we make it in time? Is that phone box free? Please excuse me – I have to save the world.

Please take a look at some of the ideas you can do at home related to our topic and choose at least one to work on over the next few weeks:

You also have the option of choosing tasks from our previous Creative Curriclum topics:

Weekly Home Learning
