Jungian therapy, using unconscious and synchronicity transference, Sand Therapy and small group therapy, this non-invasive therapy is a perfect solution to several long- and short-term emotional issues. It is a 1:1 12-week programme, 30-minute sessions once a week. Parental permission is required.
We are lucky enough to have two Pets as Therapy dogs who support over 30 children across KS1 and KS2. Their presence helps to reduce stress and anxiety, providing children with unconditional love, comfort and support. Spending time with our therapy dogs can help children to feel calm, build confidence and develop positive emotional wellbeing. They provide a safe, nurturing presence for children who may need a little extra support throughout the school day.
Any close family deaths or serious illness will get reported to me, and I plan and carry out work with each grieving family/child. Including sudden deaths from suicide and cancer. This bespoke to each child.
Anchor Management is a positive, fun and calm way to address anger. Understand their triggers, help them regulate in a healthy and in a positive manor. Encourages communication, reduces conflict and supports mental health. Designed for Key stage 2.
Unfortunately, not everyone stays together and we offer support to families going through difficult separations, this can be with the parents who need help in a distressed state and then signposting where needed. If needed by helping the children, using an array material and planning sessions for them to understand the situation and have someone to impartial to talk with.
I have a group of children who require a little extra support and help believing in themselves, I plan, deliver and assess a programme of work from a mixture of resources including body image and relaxation.
During lunch times Nurture remains open for the more sensitive children offering a safe space to eat and play, Sand, role play and painting are set up. Play in a relaxed environment. They may require support with cutting up food, getting a drink, making good food choices, reminders on polite eating, manners and how they should communicate with their peers.
Teapot time is an open forum, usually offsite in the Parish Hall, an opportunity to chat in a relaxed environment over a warm drink to mention any issues that are school related and have your voice heard without needing to make an appointment.
