Date: Friday 21st December
Dear parents/guardians,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support this term. It has been an extremely busy term and the children have worked hard and have been a credit to the school on the many opportunities they have had to represent St Ambrose in the parish and wider community. They are always praised for their excellent manners and 100% enthusiasm in everything they do and certainly put into action our mission statement:'We do our best by following Jesus.'
I would like to thank the PTA for their tremendous efforts this term fundraising to support the school so that the children have the best resources and opportunities possible. We look forward to showcasing our new fully stocked library in the Spring term.
May I wish everyone a very happy and peaceful Christmas and I look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.
We return to school on Monday 7th January.
Best wishes,
Mrs Stewart
ST JOHN'S HOUSE DAY:
On Thursday everyone in St John's (Green) house celebrated the forthcoming feast day of their patron saint by coming to school in a green top. Thank you to Father Lamb for giving his time to talk to the children about St John before they received a chocolate bar and colouring sheet as a momento and an extra play of course to celebrate!
CELEBRATIONS:
We have had a wonderful week of celebrations. Many congratulations to all the children in KS1 who started us off by presenting their wonderful Nativity 'Born in a Barn.' It was most impressive, the children spoke clearly and projected their voices like professional actors! Everyone was thoroughly entertained. Several people have commented on it being 'outstanding.' A huge thank you to all the parents for providing the costumes, not only did it sound great but it looked amazing too.
Last night we got full swing into the festive spirit as KS2 joined with the parish choir for their carol concert. It was a wonderful night and the children were complemented for their beautiful singing and excellent behaviour. Well done to everyone who took part, you were a credit to the school.
REVERSE ADVENT CALENDAR:
Many thanks to everyone for their generous donations to the Reverse Advent Calendar. The children were able to take 20 bags filled with food over to church, to be donated to the Foodbank. It has certainly helped them to think of others less fortunate than themselves in the run up to Christmas.
SEN DROP IN:
Mrs Price holds a drop in session from 2-3pm every Thursday afternoon. Please remember appointments on a 1-1 basis can be arranged with Mrs Price for any Thursday or Friday.
CAR PARK:
PLEASE CAN WE ASK THAT YOU DO NOT USE THE CAR PARK AT DROP OFF AND PICK UP TIMES AS IT IS DANGEROUS AT THESE BUSY TIMES.
