DATE: Friday 19th July 2019
As we reach the end of the school year, I would like to thank you for the support you have given to your child and the school. Together we have achieved great things, our children have all had achievements and moments to be proud of. The school now has a fully stocked library which is ready to be used by all pupils, this is most definitely an achievement for our school community-well done everyone.
When we return to school in September the playground will be transformed with three new astro-turf areas for the children. This is very exciting and is the result of the fundraising by the PTA. I am also pleased to say we will be upgrading our iPads to enhance the education we provide.

UNIFORM REVIEW TEAPOT TIME:
Your opinion counts!
Thank you to everyone who attended the teapot time regarding our school uniform. I really enjoyed hearing your ideas. As a result of the coffee morning, we will be meeting with a range of uniform providers to find the best one for us.
Please see the lunchtime supervisor advert below.
We have taken a fresh look at our curriculum to ensure we provide a curriculum that is broad, balanced, exciting and engaging for all. In the first half term, the theme across the school will be,'Me and my World.'
I can't wait to share what everyone learns and discovers
Thank you to everyone who has supported our toast venture. We have raised £382 towards our peace garden including a donation from sainsburys Supermarket.
After the huge success and by popular demand we will continue with selling toast on Tuesdays and Thursday when we return in September.
Keeping safe with Thomas:
On Wednesday afternoon Reception watched a live read of Thomas the tank engine book. It was read to the children by Inspector Becky Warren. The children learnt all about keeping safe at train stations. They had to be observant to answer the live quiz at the end. The Reception class at St Ambrose even received a shout out from the Inspector!!
Max - You stop when the lights show at the crossing.
Logan - You need to be with a grown up.
Matilda - I liked watching it because Thomas is the same name as my brother.
Robyn M - I liked it because the story was important.
Joseph - The Fat Controller was angry because Thomas was going too fast.

WELL DONE YEAR 6 !!!
Good attendance is very important to us here at St Ambrose Catholic Primary School and we are working hard to make sure that all children attend school as often as possible. Our school target is 96%. We understand that children cannot help being ill, but we would urge parents to do their best to ensure that medical and dental appointments are made for outside of school hours. Below is a table highlighting how time off affects a child's learning:
We have places available in Years 1,3, 4 & 6. If you know of anyone who would be interested, please refer them to the School Office in the first instance. Many thanks.
ALTAR SERVERS' ROTA:
Please see attached the rota for Altar Serving. Thank you.
THE PARISH 200 CLUB:
The Parish 200 Club is a major fundraiser to help support the running of the Parish. Members contribute £2 a month (£24 a year) and there will be monthly draws for cash prizes. Application forms for new members are now avaliable from the School Office.
PARISH BABY AND TODDLER GROUP:
If you or anyone you know would be interested in going along to the Parish's Baby and Toddler group, the sessions are held on Wednesdays in term from 9-11 am (except the last Wednesday of the month). We welcome newborn up to pre-school children and their parents. Your first session will be free of charge and thereafter will be 80p. This cost includes refreshments for you and your child.
