DATE: Friday 19th July 2019

As we reach the end of the school year, I would like to thank you for the support you have given to your child and the school. Together we have achieved great things, our children have all had achievements and moments to be proud of. The school now has a fully stocked library which is ready to be used by all pupils, this is most definitely an achievement for our school community-well done everyone.

When we return to school in September the playground will be transformed with three new astro-turf areas for the children. This is very exciting and is the result of the fundraising by the PTA. I am also pleased to say we will be upgrading our iPads to enhance the education we provide.

CLASS INFORMATION:

Keeping safe with Thomas:

On Wednesday afternoon Reception watched a live read of Thomas the tank engine book. It was read to the children by Inspector Becky Warren. The children learnt all about keeping safe at train stations. They had to be observant to answer the live quiz at the end. The Reception class at St Ambrose even received a shout out from the Inspector!!

Max - You stop when the lights show at the crossing.

Logan - You need to be with a grown up.

Matilda - I liked watching it because Thomas is the same name as my brother.

Robyn M - I liked it because the story was important.

Joseph - The Fat Controller was angry because Thomas was going too fast.

WELL DONE YEAR 6 !!!

Good attendance is very important to us here at St Ambrose Catholic Primary School and we are working hard to make sure that all children attend school as often as possible. Our school target is 96%. We understand that children cannot help being ill, but we would urge parents to do their best to ensure that medical and dental appointments are made for outside of school hours. Below is a table highlighting how time off affects a child's learning:

SCHOOL PLACES:

We have places available in Years 1,3, 4 & 6. If you know of anyone who would be interested, please refer them to the School Office in the first instance. Many thanks.
