Date:11th May 2018
Good afternoon everyone,
On Thursday the whole school went to Mass to celebrate the Ascension of Our Lord. Father Lamb reminded us that after his Resurrection, Jesus appeared to his disciples over a period of forty days. It was wonderful to see so many parents and parishioners at Mass, as we celebrated Jesus' return to his Father in Heaven.
YEAR 1 ASSEMBLY
A huge congratulations to Year 1 for a wonderful King and Queens assembly. It went amazingly and everyone looked fantastic in all of their costumes. Thank you to all parents and carers for a great turnout and for your continued support.
DADS AND LADS
There are a limited amount of spaces available for the Dads and Lads session. If you are interested, please speak to the school office in the first instance.

Well Done Year 1.
BIRMINGHAM DOGS HOME ASSEMBLY AND YEAR 2 WORKSHOP
Thank you to everyone who sent in dog treats for the Birmingham Dog's Home. The assembly led by Rachel and Riva the dog on Tuesday was extremely interesting, as we all learnt how to care for dogs.Year 2 also had a further session to give them more information on dogs which they thoroughly enjoyed.
RED, WHITE AND BLUE DAY
On Friday 18th May we will be celebrating the Royal wedding with an afternoon street party on the playground (weather permitting). The children may come to school wearing red, white and blue to mark the occasion. Every child has received a letter asking them to bring in an identified treat for six children. Thank you for your support.
Thank you to everyone who parks on the road when they drop off their children at school. If you need assistance and require a space in the school car park, please speak to Mrs Brocklesby
PARENT'S AND FRIEND ASSOCIATION
I am so pleased that a group of parents have spoken to me about forming an active and supportive group, who will organise a wide variety of events raising invaluable funds for our school and its pupils.
The objectives of the Association will be:
To develop more extended relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school;
To engage in activities which support the school and the education of the pupils attending it;
To provide and assist in the provision of facilities for the school; and
To encourage parents and friends to support the school and school activities.
We will be holding a meeting on Friday 18th May to establish a committee, which will administer the affairs of the Parents and Friends Association. Please come along to the meeting, to let us know how you can help,
The aim of our fundraising will be to establish a new library in school.
Today Mrs Brocklesby was joined by seven children for afternoon tea and I was so pleased that they were chosen for demonstrating the virtues 'Grateful and Generous'.
Well Done to everyone who received a certificate this week.
Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to the building fund, these contributions are vital to help the Academy Committee of the school raise the funds they need to maintain and develop the school building so that our young people - your children - can continue to be educated in good and improving surroundings.
We were delighted that some parents were able to join us for our end of the school day collective worship in Reception yesterday and in Year 3 today at 2.50pm. Next week collective worship will be in Reception on Thursday at 2.50 pm and in Year 3 on Friday at 2.50pm
