The Jubilee Prayer

Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us
in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your Kingdom.

May your grace transform us
into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos
in the sure expectation
of a new heaven and a new earth,
when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,
your glory will shine eternally.

May the grace of the Jubilee
reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread
the joy and peace of our Redeemer
throughout the earth.
To you our God, eternally blessed,
be glory and praise for ever.

Amen

Message from Mrs Laskey

We hope you had a lovely and restful half-term break. It’s been a busy and exciting first week back, with three enriching visits.

These experiences have provided wonderful learning opportunities for our pupils and set a positive tone for the rest of the term.

On Wednesday, Year 3 had the pleasure of attending a delightful production of The Wizard of Oz at Winterfold School. The performance was thoroughly enjoyed by all and proved to be a memorable experience for both pupils and staff.

The production was brought to life through an impressive combination of acting, singing, and scenery. The young cast from Year 7 and Year 8 at Winterfold delivered a confident and engaging performance, capturing the charm and spirit of the classic story. Each character was portrayed with energy and enthusiasm, making it easy for us, the audience to become immersed in Dorothy’s journey through Oz.

Throughout the visit, the children conducted themselves impeccably. They represented the school with pride and were a credit to their teachers and families. Their excellent behaviour and enthusiastic response to the performance did not go unnoticed, and several members of staff from Winterfold School commented on their courtesy and attentiveness.

This was a wonderful opportunity for Year 3 to experience live theatre in a school setting, and we are grateful to Winterfold School for their warm welcome and inspiring production.

Yesterday, Year 2 enjoyed a fantastic trip to the West Midlands Safari Park, where they had the opportunity to see a wide variety of animals up close, including zebras, lions, penguins, and even an African snail, called Godfrey! From the moment they arrived, the children were filled with excitement and curiosity, and they loved every minute of the experience, despite the weather forecast.

The safari drive-through was a particular highlight, giving pupils the chance to observe magnificent animals in habitats designed to reflect their natural environments. The children were especially fascinated by the giraffes and zebras, watching in awe as they moved gracefully through the open spaces.

Throughout the visit, the children represented St Ambrose brilliantly. Their behaviour was exemplary, and they listened attentively, followed instructions carefully, and treated both staff and animals with respect.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable and educational day out, and we are proud of how well Year 2 conducted themselves throughout the trip.

This afternoon, representatives from our Liturgical Leaders and Live Simply Ambassadors proudly represented St Ambrose at the annual Father Hudson Caritas Mass, held at St George’s Catholic Church in Worcester.

Our pupils demonstrated great reverence throughout the celebration, joining in with both familiar and new hymns with confidence and joy. Their respectful participation and thoughtful presence were a true credit to our school community.

During the Offertory, Kian and Hannah presented our school’s donation of £263.10—an amount raised through our recent fundraising events, including Odd Shoe Day and the Easter Egg Raffle. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported these initiatives and helped contribute to such a worthy cause.

The Mass was a meaningful opportunity for our pupils to reflect on the importance of charity, service, and community, and we are proud of the way they represented St Ambrose with dignity and faith.

As we look ahead, we’re excited for the next six weeks of the summer term, which promise to be just as full of activity, learning, and memorable moments.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Have a lovely weekend.

Mrs Laskey

Attendance

Regular attendance at school means that your child will make the most of their education and improve their chances later on in life. At St Ambrose, good attendance is of high importance and we strive to have at least 96% attendance. Please help us with this target. If you need any support, then school is here to help so that your child can get the very best out of the education we provide.

The Attendance Policy 2024-2025 states that:
Parents are asked to inform the school before 8.50a.m. on their child's first day of absence. This can be done via telephone (01562 823568) or email (enquiry_amb@emmausmac.com).  Parents are asked to keep the school informed of the child's continued absence if it does not constitute the 48 hours rule for the sickness bug.

We will continue sending out regular communications about attendance so that you are aware if you child falls below our 96% target and we are working with Louise Howles, our Education Welfare Officer to support us with improvements.

Times of the School Day

8.40a.m. Gates open

8.50a.m. Gates close and registration in class

8.50a.m. - 9.20a.m. Late before close of register

After 9.20a.m. - Late (unauthorised)

The UCM (United Catholic Mothers) meet every other Monday evening at 7pm in term time and would like to extend a warm welcome to anyone who would like to become a member. They play a pivotal role fundraising activities for the Church and also devote their time to helping out at school functions such as school fete, holy communion etc. You wouldn't necessarily have to come to all the meetings but any availability to help out at functions would be very much appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Mrs Brocklesby and Mrs Laskey
