Animal Blessing 2024

The annual Pets’ Blessing took place yesterday to celebrate the feast of St. Francis. God graced us with sunshine whilst a variety of different pets graced us with their presence: dogs, rabbits and hamsters.

The animals were blessed by Canon Lamb who led the blessing and sprinkled holy water over them. Year 6 children recited prayers, on the theme of Creation and the whole school sang beautifully.

It was heart-warming to see so many families supporting the celebration.

Next week I will be contacting parents to volunteer to support the Children's Liturgy. This is an opportunity for the younger children of the school and Parish to go to a separate room during Mass and learn about the Gospel story in an age appropriate way. The children's work will then be brought in during the offertory procession, so that they are back in the Church for the Eucharistic part, the most important aspect of the Mass. If you are interested in supporting this and helping to lead the Liturgy, please email Mrs Brocklesby ebrocklesby@emmausmac.com

Harvest Time

Here at St Ambrose, at Harvest time, we celebrate and give thanks for the food we have. We think of others who live in poverty and do not have enough food, wherever they live in the world, nearby or far away.

We remember the words of the Gospel:

“I have come so that they may have life and have it to the full” John 10:10

On Friday 11th October we will be celebrating our whole school Harvest Mass in our Parish Church, St Ambrose, at 9:30a.m.

All parents and carers are welcome to attend.

During the week we will also be collecting food items, which we will donate to Kidderminster Foodbank. We would be very grateful for donations of fresh or tinned/packaged foods to donate. Please send any fresh food items in on Friday 11th October.  The children will received house points for bringing items in.

The Live Simply Ambassadors are going to be holding a raffle over the next two weeks to raise money for CAFOD (Catholic Agency for Overseas Development).

Raffle tickets will also be on sale throughout the week from Tuesday 8th October.

Raffle Tickets will be at a cost of £1 a ticket and are available via ParentPay (from Tuesday 8th October).

This will be drawn on Friday 18th October.

Thank you for your support.

Regular attendance at school means that your child will make the most of their education and improve their chances later on in life. At St Ambrose, good attendance is of high importance and we strive to have at least 96% attendance. Please help us with this target. If you need any support, then school is here to help so that your child can get the very best out of the education we provide.

We will continue sending out regular push notifications about attendance so that you are aware if you child falls below our 96% target and we are working with Louise Howles, our Education Welfare Officer to support us with improvements.
