Message from Mrs Laskey

Dear Parents and Carers,

During Musical Praise this morning the House Captains were announced to the school.  Well done to all of Year Six who took the time to write their speech about why they wanted to stand for the house positions. All children and staff are allocated a house team and over the course of the year there will be half-term meetings, interhouse competitions held and other events that will focus on being part of a team.

Congratulations to all of the children below who were elected as House Captain and Vic House Captain. We hope you are looking forward to this important role within our school.

On Friday 18th October 2024 9.30a.m. to 11.30a.m. we are holding our school Open Morning. Today your child will have come home with a flyer advertising this event. Please pass this flyer to a neighbour or a family member if they will be applying for a school place for the child in the future. All families welcome.

Have a lovely weekend.

Saint Francis of Assisi is a very important saint in the life of the Catholic Church and school.  The children all know that Saint Francis loved and cared for the natural world and the animals within it. On Thursday 3rd October we will celebrate his feast day (4th October) and to mark the occasion we will hold the annual Blessing of the Animal Service on the school playground at 2.30p.m.

We would like to welcome all animals, large and small to this special service.

Sprint Active are our providers for After School Clubs.  Please see the adjacent letter for year groups and activities and also how you are able to sign your child up. There are still spaces available across all days.

SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, October 19th 2024 Parish Retreat day -

'Hail Holy Queen, Our Life, Our Sweetness and Our Hope'.

Time: Approximately 10am-4pm.

Please see the poster for more information.

All parents are warmly invited to attend 'Teapot Time' with Mrs Wallace in the Parish Hall from 8.50am - 9.30am.

Regular attendance at school means that your child will make the most of their education and improve their chances later on in life. At St Ambrose, good attendance is of high importance and we strive to have at least 96% attendance. Please help us with this target. If you need any support, then school is here to help so that your child can get the very best out of the education we provide.

We will continue sending out regular push notifications about attendance so that you are aware if you child falls below our 96% target and we are working with Louise Howles, our Education Welfare Officer to support us with improvements.
