GOSPEL ASSEMBLY
In our assembly today we heard Matthew presenting Jesus’ rules for a happy life (the Beatitudes) that at first seem unusual. Through a game and drama, we discovered that an upside-down way can turn out to be the best. Jesus wants us to trust that His way will lead us to a blessed life of everlasting joy and fulfilment.
Why not take a moment to discuss and reflect the following with your child:
- Jesus gives us instructions on how to follow Him well.
- The Beatitudes point us toward the best way to live.
- Happiness from God is an everlasting blessing.
Dear Jesus,
Thank you for giving us the best instructions for a happy and
blessed life. Your way of doing things is the way I want to live.
Give me a heart that is eager to love you so I can follow your
ways through my whole life.
Amen

RE QUESTIONNAIRE FOR PARENTS
Thank you to the parents who have already completed this survey. We would be very grateful if you could spare a few minutes to complete it using the link below to help us gain insight into RE and Catholic Life of our school from your perspective.
FUNDRAISING
We would like to say a big thank you to our TAPP group for buying us a Tonie Box for our library. WORCESTER CATHEDRAL TRIP - ST WULSTAN'S HOUSE
On Monday, children in Saint Wulstan's House from KS2 visited Worcester Cathedral to learn more about Saint Wulstan and to take part in some workshops. Take a look at their freeze frames which have been turned into creative stain glass window artwork! Everyone had a fabulous day and we are looking forward to organising trips for children in the other school houses very soon!
Pupil Voice:
The trip was great because we got to learn a lot about Saint Wulstan and it was special that it was only the people in our house who got to go. The best part was when we did some acting and I performed the miracle when Saint Wulstan healed someone who had fallen from a great height. It was lovely that Father Lamb came too. - Travis
We acted out different scenes from Saint Wulstan’s life. My group did when he became vegetarian – a fact that I didn’t know before. In the area where we started we got to do a jigsaw puzzle of the local area and we saw what the monks of Worcestershire used to do. We also had to match props with labels that detailed the jobs they did. - Ethan
I enjoyed all of it but the thing that really stood out to me were the 3D models of the cathedral which were super detailed and told us all about how it was built. The inside of the cathedral was amazing! I liked that we were learning about something that was important to us – our house saint! - Sam
When I saw Worcester Cathedral for the first time I couldn't believe how big it was! My favourite part was how beautiful the stained glass windows were - each one told a different story! We had to walk really carefully because the stairs were really big! - Zuzanna
I remember that Saint Wulstan saved someone from falling off when building the cathedral. I really liked acting out the story of Saint Wulstan's life. - Joseph

YEAR 6 PARENT'S SATS WORKSHOP
We will be holding a parents SATs workshop on Thursday 2nd March at 9.00am. This will provide parents with an opportunity to find out about what is expected of our Year 6 pupils and how you can help your child prepare in the best way for them.
ATTENDANCE
Regular attendance at school means that your child will make the most of their education and improve their chances later on in life. At St Ambrose, good attendance is of high importance and we strive to have at least 96% attendance. Please help us with this target. If you need any support, then school is here to help so that your child can get the very best out of the education we provide.
We will begin sending out regular push notifications again about attendance so that you are aware if you child falls below our 96% target and we are working with Louise Howles, our Education Welfare Officer to support us with improvements.
Over the next few weeks Mrs Brocklesby will be arranging meetings to support any families where attendance is a concern.

VIRTUES: ELOQUENT & TRUTHFUL
This half term, we are growing to be eloquent and truthful in what we say about ourselves, the relations between people, and the world. As a school, we will help our pupils grow by developing an eloquent language which they can use to understand and articulate their emotions, belief, and questions and will encourage them to be truthful in the way they represent themselves and speak about the world.
We would love to hear if your child has been eloquent and truthful at home - please email year6_amb@emmausmac.com to let Miss Holtom know and she will arrange for your child to have a special certificate at the end of this half term in our special virtues assembly.

STAY SAFE ONLINE
Please read the following tips to share with your son or daughter about staying safe online:
- Never give out personal information. This includes online people you know as well. Keep them private!
- Never send pictures of yourself because once it’s online, it’s there forever, and it could get into the wrong hands.
- Don’t make friends with people you don’t know. People are not always who they say they are.
- Tell your parents/carers what you’re doing online so they can act fast if there are any issues and can vet whether the website is safe for use
- Leave the website and tell a trusted adult immediately if you see something that concerns you or makes you feel unsafe
- Never show your real name, age or where you live in your username
- Use strong passwords which have a mix of numbers, letters and symbols
- Do not share passwords with others
- Don’t open an attachment unless you’re 100% sure it’s safe
- Don’t let strangers into your video calls. Blur your background so you don’t give away any information about where you are.
- Be careful who you webcam with
- Don’t meet up with someone you’ve only met online
- Be nice online
- Think before your post! This applies to when you send or forward content.
Please see the confirmed term dates below for 2022/23.
Kind Regards,
Mrs Brocklesby
