Message from Mrs Brocklesby

PILGRIMS OF HOPE

It has been wonderful to welcome everyone back to school this week as we begin our Lenten journey, a special season of reflection, prayer, and preparation leading up to Easter. This week, all the children have written a Lenten prayer, which has been added to create a school prayer chain. Saint Ambrose and Saint Wulstan’s Schools will be swapping prayer chains, with a prayer from each chain being read every day, helping us all reflect and grow together during this meaningful season. Lent is a time to focus on kindness, generosity, and spiritual growth, and through activities like our prayer chain, we encourage everyone to take a moment each day to pause, pray, and consider how they can make a positive difference in their school, home, and community. I also look forward to seeing Year 3 children, who are preparing for their First Holy Communion, at the Mass of Commitment on Sunday at 11 am.

Father Hudson’s Caritas Fundraising – Christ-centred Pilgrims of Hope, Hunger for Justice

It’s that time of year again when we come together to support the ‘Pledge £1 for Father Hudson’s Caritas’ campaign! Last year, our combined efforts raised over £130,000, making a tremendous impact across Father Hudson Caritas projects. This year, the Birmingham Diocese Education Service  is aiming even higher, and invites all Diocesan schools to join in. During Lent, our Live Simply Ambassadors will be organising fundraising activities to support the £1 Pledge initiative. We encourage everyone to take part by donating £1 (or more!) and participating in the exciting events planned throughout the season. Together, small sacrifices can make a big difference. More details about specific fundraising opportunities will be shared soon by our Ambassadors, so stay tuned and get ready to help make this year even more successful!

We are pleased to report that following the completion of the Phase 1 pipe upgrades, it has become clear that the planned work on the playground is no longer necessary. This means the playground will remain open and fully accessible, allowing the children to continue to enjoy the space without disruption. We appreciate your patience and support during the upgrade.

Year 5 swimming lessons will be on a Tuesday on the following dates. Please ensure that you give your consent via Arbor for your child to attend.
