Message from Mrs Laskey

This week has been filled with joyful moments and proud achievements across our school community.

On Tuesday, it was a delight to see so many smiling faces during the school photographs. The children looked incredibly smart, and the photographer was full of praise for their excellent behaviour and impeccable manners. It was a real testament to the pride our pupils take in representing their school — well done to everyone!

Wednesday brought another special occasion during the Class Mass. Canon Lamb was deeply impressed by the children’s reverence, their thoughtful and confident responses, and their eagerness to engage in discussion about Our Lady of Walsingham. It was a beautiful reflection of their growing understanding and faith.

Today’s Celebration Assembly was a wonderful way to round off the week. Awards were presented to children who have demonstrated a range of virtues, from kindness and courage to perseverance and friendship. It was heart warming to hear how many pupils have been supporting their peers and enthusiastically applying their learning.

Thank you to all our children for making this week so memorable. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you!

Have a lovely weekend and I look forward to seeing families from Nursery and Reception at the 11am parish welcome Mass on Sunday followed by a MacMillan cake sale. All are welcome.

Teapot time takes place every Tuesday from 8.50am -9.30am in the Parish Hall hosted by Mrs Wallace. Please feel free to pop along for an informal chat about anything school related.

Can we please remind that you should not be parking in the car park at drop off and pick up times unless you have requested and been given a parking pass. Please can you pass this onto any other family members or friends who may also drop off or collect your child.

As you can appreciate, drop off and pick up times are always busy and so to ensure our children's safety we kindly request that you find parking outside of the car park.

The Jubilee Prayer

Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us
in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your Kingdom.

May your grace transform us
into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos
in the sure expectation
of a new heaven and a new earth,
when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,
your glory will shine eternally.

May the grace of the Jubilee
reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread
the joy and peace of our Redeemer
throughout the earth.
To you our God, eternally blessed,
be glory and praise for ever.

Amen

Attendance

Regular attendance at school means that your child will make the most of their education and improve their chances later on in life. At St Ambrose, good attendance is of high importance and we strive to have at least 96% attendance. Please help us with this target. If you need any support, then school is here to help so that your child can get the very best out of the education we provide.

The Attendance Policy 2024-2025 states that:
Parents are asked to inform the school before 8.50a.m. on their child's first day of absence. This can be done via telephone (01562 823568) or email (enquiry_amb@emmausmac.com).  Parents are asked to keep the school informed of the child's continued absence if it does not constitute the 48 hours rule for the sickness bug.

We will continue sending out regular communications about attendance so that you are aware if you child falls below our 96% target and we are working with Louise Howles, our Education Welfare Officer to support us with improvements.

Times of the School Day

8.50a.m. Gates close and registration in class

The UCM (United Catholic Mothers) meet every other Monday evening at 7pm in term time and would like to extend a warm welcome to anyone who would like to become a member. They play a pivotal role fundraising activities for the Church and also devote their time to helping out at school functions such as school fete, holy communion etc. You wouldn't necessarily have to come to all the meetings but any availability to help out at functions would be very much appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Mrs Brocklesby and Mrs Laskey
