Autumn/ Winter Menus that will come into place after half term. Please ensure that you are making your child's meal selection in advance.

Message from Mrs Laskey

As ever, it has been a very hectic (but very enjoyable) first half term. The children are all committed to their learning and are making great strides forward both academically and socially. We are all so proud of them and I would also like to thank you for all your continued support.

Thank you to everyone who came along to our Parents Evening's this week. I hope you enjoyed looking at your child's books and discussing progress and next steps with teachers. It was wonderful to see so many parents and be able to celebrate children's achievements.

Please remember, teachers are always happy to discuss children's progress with you so please do make contact if you feel this would be beneficial.

If you were unable to attend Parents Evening, please contact the school office to arrange an appointment with your child's teacher and they will be happy to meet with you.

During the week the children have been voting for their class representatives for roles of responsibility in school. Well done to all those children, they were awarded with their badges today during assembly.

The House Captains were also presented with their badges.

Calling new Live Simply Ambassadors for 2024-2025.

Our Live Simply team for 2024-2025 will be made up of 2 children from Year R all the way up to Year 6.

This year our school is working with CAFOD and trying to complete our Live Simply award.

CAFOD's vision for the future is to have of a world without poverty. A world where anyone who is sick can see a doctor and where all children can go to school.
A world where people have clean water to drink and enough food to eat and a safe home to live in.
Through the Live Simply award, we are working with CAFOD to try and create this kind of world.

As Live Simply members and a school community we are going to try our best to:
Live simply,
Live sustainably and,
Live in solidarity.

If you would like to volunteer to be a Live Simply ambassador, please let your teacher know and voting will take place in your class.
The new Live Simply Ambassadors will be announced next week.

The Live Simply Ambassadors are going to be holding a raffle to raise money for CAFOD (Catholic Agency for Overseas Development).

Due to technical issues with Arbor, the raffle tickets will now be sold on the playground every day until Thursday after school when we return after half term. They will cost £1 for a strip of 5 so please bring some coins to enter the raffle to support the wonderful charity that the children have chosen.

The draw will take place on Friday 8th November.

Thank you for your continued support.

Term Dates

Regular attendance at school means that your child will make the most of their education and improve their chances later on in life. At St Ambrose, good attendance is of high importance and we strive to have at least 96% attendance. Please help us with this target. If you need any support, then school is here to help so that your child can get the very best out of the education we provide.

We will continue sending out regular push notifications about attendance so that you are aware if you child falls below our 96% target and we are working with Louise Howles, our Education Welfare Officer to support us with improvements.
