Message from Mrs Brocklesby

FORMING CHRIST CENTERED PILGRIMS OF HOPE

This week we’re building on the strong start to the year, with key activities underway. Thank you to everyone for the continued energy and commitment, it has been great to see such positive momentum across the school. It was great to lead assembly on Monday morning, where we spent time exploring the theme of true identity. The children engaged thoughtfully with the discussion, reflecting on what makes each of us unique and the importance of being true to ourselves and our values.

This week we’d like to remind everyone how important it is to be in school on time. Being on time means you can join in from the very start and make the most of all the exciting lessons and activities planned for the day. It also helps everyone settle in quickly and keeps the day running smoothly. Thank you for helping us make sure every child can enjoy everything school has to offer. You will be receiving a letter soon with more information about our inclusive attendance approach and how we can work together to support all children in coming to school regularly and on time.

I am delighted to inform you that Mr. Pitt is now the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO) across both Saint Ambrose and Saint Wulstan’s.

Mr. Pitt has a wealth of experience supporting children with a wide range of learning needs. He will work closely with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure every child receives the individual guidance and support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

As SENDCO, Mr. Pitt will:

  • Oversee and coordinate support for pupils with additional needs across both schools.

  • Work with staff to develop personalised learning plans and strategies.

  • Support families in understanding the school’s SEND provision and accessing external resources when needed.

  • Serve as a key point of contact for any questions or concerns regarding special educational needs.

If you would like to discuss your child’s needs or arrange a meeting, please contact Mr. Pitt via email at dpitt@emmausmac.com. He is available to meet on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.

We are looking forward to celebrating Number Day on Friday 6th February, and we would love everyone to get involved!

The day will begin with a whole-school assembly at 9:05am, which I will be leading, to help kick-start the celebrations and set the tone for a fun, number-filled day.

On the day, staff and children are invited to dress up as a number, and we will be spending the day exploring all things numbers across the school. This is a great opportunity to be creative, have fun, and bring maths to life!

Can we please ask that all entries have an ingredients list and that no nuts are used in the recipes. Thank you.

Puss in Boots is a performance by 'The Monday Night Group' amateur dramatics society. They are a registered charity and all money raised for their performances go back into the local community.

We are very pleased and proud to announce that this year's cast includes our very own Mr Holman who plays the part of King Basil! Oh yes he is!!

It would be a wonderful opportunity for a great family night out and for our school community to support him.
