Message from Mrs Laskey

The lovely weather has certainly arrived today and just in time for half term. The children have enjoyed the sunshine during break time and lunchtime today.

Streak Week has certainly helped to raise the profile of the importance of good attendance across the school. This county-led initiative has been adopted by many schools across Worcestershire and has encouraged pupils to recognise the value of being in school every day.

Well done to all of the children who achieved full attendance this week. We are also mindful that, at times, there can be exceptional circumstances which lead to absence, and we thank families for their continued support in ensuring children attend school whenever possible.

Thank you to the St Ambrose PTA for arranging and organising the school disco taking place after school tonight. There has been a real buzz of excitement around the school today, with the children eagerly looking forward to the event.

We are incredibly grateful for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to organise opportunities like this for our children. Your time, energy and dedication are greatly appreciated and help create such enjoyable experiences and happy memories for our school community.

This Sunday, we also celebrate the Feast of Pentecost, which marks the end of the Easter season and commemorates the coming of the Holy Spirit to the disciples. Pentecost is often known as the “birthday of the Church,” as it was the moment the disciples were inspired to go out and share the message of Jesus with the world. We keep all our families in our prayers as we celebrate this special feast day together.

A message from Miss Brewer about the Year 2 assembly -

It was wonderful watching the Year Two class assembly this morning. We had the pleasure of learning all about space and being taken through some of the most important moments in history and space exploration. The children shared their knowledge with such confidence and enthusiasm, making the performance both educational and entertaining for everyone watching. The dancing was fabulous, the acting was brilliant, and the singing added so much energy and excitement to the assembly. It was lovely to see how much effort the children had put into learning their lines and performing so confidently in front of an audience. They should all feel incredibly proud of themselves for such a fantastic performance. A huge thank you to all the families who joined us this morning to support the children. Your encouragement and support mean so much and helped make the occasion even more special. Well done again to Year Two and to the staff who helped prepare such a memorable assembly.

We would like to wish all of our families a lovely half-term break. We hope you are able to enjoy some sunshine and spend quality time with family and friends over the holiday.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for the final half term of this academic year, which is always such a busy and exciting time in school.
