SCHOOL WILL BREAK UP FOR SUMMER ON TUESDAY 25TH JULY AND RETURN FOR THE AUTUMN TERM ON WEDNESDAY 6TH SEPTEMBER.

Last week it was wonderful to welcome children, parents and parishioners to our summer fete. Lots of fun was had by all, thank you to everyone who planned, ran a stall and came to support our Fete! A big thank you to Mrs Wallace and TAPP but thank you to everyone for working hard to raise money for our school. Together we have raised a fantastic £1037. Thank you everyone!
RECEPTION SCHOOL TRIP TO BISHOPSWOOD
Both KS2 and KS1 Sports Days were fantastic events. The children tried their best, didn't gave up, and made their teachers and their parents proud! It was lovely to see children cheering for their houses in different year groups, and everyone was excited to find out the winners in assembly today. It was certainly a close competition between 1st and 2nd place, with only 1 point between them! A taster of photos is below, and more photos will be added to the PE page of the website in the next week - if you want to see photos of your child shared please ensure you have given permission on Arbor (no names will be shared).

WHAT A KNIGHT - YEAR 6 LEAVERS PLAY
The Year 6 Leavers' production was a resounding success - the children's performances had us rolling in the aisles. The West End beckons for this troop of performers who could turn tears to laughter with one song and dance. Congratulations all! I am so proud of you all!
YEAR 5 BINGO

On Thursday our Minnie Vinnie's hosted bingo for parents and the Parishioners in the Parish Hall to raise money for charity. We were extremely proud of all of their hard work and it is great to see them responding to our Catholic Social Teaching: 'option for the poor' - helping those in need.
NEXT YEAR

All children have now met their new class teacher - see staffing list. We will be holding meet the teacher sessions for parents to attend and get to know the staff who will be supporting your son or daughter in September. All children will receive a post card from their new teacher during the holidays and over the next few weeks children will learn about their new classes.

Regular attendance at school means that your child will make the most of their education and improve their chances later on in life. At St Ambrose, good attendance is of high importance and we strive to have at least 96% attendance. Please help us with this target. If you need any support, then school is here to help so that your child can get the very best out of the education we provide.
We will continue sending out regular push notifications about attendance so that you are aware if you child falls below our 96% target and we are working with Louise Howles, our Education Welfare Officer to support us with improvements.

THIS HALF TERM'S VIRTUES: INTENTIONAL AND PROPHETIC

This half term, we have been focussing on the virtues Intentional and Prophetic.
Intentional: planning our actions and choosing to live how God wants us to.
Every action we make has an impact on other people and the world around us. If we live intentionally, we listen to our conscience and deliberately decide that the actions we take will have a positive impact. We use the earth’s resources wisely, think about the choices we make, and care for God’s creation.
Prophetic: spreading the word of God through how we live our lives.
As we choose to act intentionally and make good decisions, we encourage others to do the same. We set a good example through our words and deeds and inspire other people to act in a positive and wise way. We help people to make the right decisions
themselves and think about how God wants them to live their lives.
We will celebrate the pupils who have been spotted living out these virtues in a special assembly on Monday.

WEDNESDAY WORD

Please follow the link below to access this week's Wednesday Word.
STAY SAFE ONLINE

Please read the following tips to share with your son or daughter about staying safe online:
- Never give out personal information. This includes online people you know as well. Keep them private!
- Never send pictures of yourself because once it’s online, it’s there forever, and it could get into the wrong hands.
- Don’t make friends with people you don’t know. People are not always who they say they are.
- Tell your parents/carers what you’re doing online so they can act fast if there are any issues and can vet whether the website is safe for use
- Leave the website and tell a trusted adult immediately if you see something that concerns you or makes you feel unsafe
- Never show your real name, age or where you live in your username
- Use strong passwords which have a mix of numbers, letters and symbols
- Do not share passwords with others
- Don’t open an attachment unless you’re 100% sure it’s safe
- Don’t let strangers into your video calls. Blur your background so you don’t give away any information about where you are.
- Be careful who you webcam with
- Don’t meet up with someone you’ve only met online
- Be nice online
- Think before your post! This applies to when you send or forward content.
Kind Regards,
Mrs Brocklesby
