Our Catholic Mission: 'We do our best by following Jesus.'

Friday 17th May 2024

Can we please remind you that the carpark is a public carpark therefore can we kindly ask that you keep your children with you at all times to make sure they are safe.

To those parents of children making their First Holy Communion:

A letter explaining the arrangements for First Holy Communion will be emailed out via Arbor on Monday.

The Kidderminster FoodBank are reaching out for community donations as they are really short on supplies for families in need. Please can we ask that over the next week leading up to half term, that where possible, you kindly donate any food items for us to take to the foodbank. For example: tins, toiletries, cereal, non perishable items.

We will no longer be using School Life to send out messages, emails or other notifications. All communication from school will now be through Arbor. If you have not already registered for Arbor and need some assistance please speak to the school office. Many thanks.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to one of our parents, Mr Edwards, who kindly gave up his time to dig and rake the flowerbed by the main school gates. He has done a wonderful job and we are very grateful for his time and work.

If any parents can donate some bedding plants for the area we would be most grateful.

Message from Mrs Brocklesby

We had a super start to the day today with Celebration Assembly. One of the highlights of my week is always celebrating the children’s successes in Celebration Assembly. It was wonderful to present the Curriculum and Discipleship awards to every class. I am very proud of the commitment all our children show to their learning. Please send in any awards or certificates that your son or daughter receive for extra curricular activities. They will be presented in assembly on a Friday.

Message from Mrs Laskey

Dear Parents and Carers

Well done to our Year Six children this week for demonstrating a great attitude towards the SATS (Standardised Assessment Tests). They all came into school with smiles on their faces and showed great resilience throughout. As a school we were very proud of them. Well done Year Six.

Yesterday, as a whole school we gathered together to think of Our Lady. Due to the unpredictable weather we decided that the May Procession would take place in the hall and it was a wonderful occasion. The Year Six children led us through saying the Rosary for the Joyful Mysteries.

As a school we have been learning about Mary, her apparitions, titles given to her and prayers that are dedicated to her.

Nursery and Reception - Mary the Mother of Jesus
Year One - Our Lady of Lourdes
Year Two - Our Lady of Guadeloupe
Year Three - Our Lady of Knock
Year Four - Our Lady of Fatima
Year Five - the prayer of the Magnificat
Year Six - titles given to Mary and the Regina Ceali

This weekend we celebrate the feast of Pentecost, which is known as the birth of the Church. We ask for the Holy Spirit to be with us as our constant support and guide.

Have a lovely weekend
Mrs Laskey

Regular attendance at school means that your child will make the most of their education and improve their chances later on in life. At St Ambrose, good attendance is of high importance and we strive to have at least 96% attendance. Please help us with this target. If you need any support, then school is here to help so that your child can get the very best out of the education we provide.

We will continue sending out regular push notifications about attendance so that you are aware if you child falls below our 96% target and we are working with Louise Howles, our Education Welfare Officer to support us with improvements.

Please see the ‘Come and Pray with Us’ sessions below.

On the afternoon, please come to the School Reception (Office) and sign in. Grandparents and younger siblings are welcome to attend.
