Friday 16th September 2022
School will be closed on Monday due to the Bank Holiday announced for Queen Elizabeth's Funeral.
Next week our newsletter will celebrate school life. At present we are paying homage and respect to Queen Elizabeth.
The school day now begins at 8.50am and ends at 3.20pm for all children. The gate opens at 8.40am. Thank you for your support this week everybody has adjusted to the change so quickly.
QUEEN ELIZABETH II
As a Saint Ambrose Family we have been taking time in each year group this week to remember and reflect on the amazing life of Her Majesty the Queen. As a mark of respect the newsletter is again reduced in content this week. Adults and students alike are finding the loss of such a constant figure in our lives difficult to deal with. We have a pastoral team in school that is well equipped to support your child through this emotional time. We have opened a Commemoration Book for children and staff to write in should they choose to do so. Thank you for sending in your thoughts/memories.
King Charles III has formally declared that the funeral of Her Majesty the Queen will be a Bank Holiday on Monday 19th September. We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday.

FOUNDATION GOVERNOR VACANCY
Several vacancies have become available to become a governor of our school where you can work with our principal to help support and develop an excellent Catholic curriculum at our school!
Our school mission statement is: ‘We do our best by following Jesus’ and we live it out in everything we do. Also, we follow our three main school rules: ‘be safe, be ready and be respectful’. We are respectful to the staff and to other pupils. We stay safe by listening to the staff and by following the rules. We are always ready by practicing lockdowns yearly and fire drills bimonthly.
We do many fun things such as going on trips and residential trips as well as life skills such as cooking, first aid and cleaning every half term. Thanks to grants and contributions to the school we have an outdoor gym, a small climbing frame and an Astro-turf football pitch to use during PE and breaktimes. The staff organize many after school clubs to go to and events all year round.
You can become a governor and help ensure that many more wonderful opportunities are provided for the students.
