Message from Mrs Brocklesby

First Holy Communion

This weekend many of our Year 3 children and children from the Parish will celebrate their First Holy Communion. First Holy Communion is a time when our children are invited to share in the Eucharist. This is the part of the Mass where the bread and wine become the body and blood of Jesus. We are grateful to Father Lamb, Mrs Laskey, Mrs Shevas, Mrs George and all our dedicated teachers and parents who have lovingly guided our children.

Message from Mrs Laskey

Dear Parents and Carers

After school on Friday 12th July the TAPP Summer Fete will take place and currently there is lots of hard work going on behind the scenes to ensure that it is once again a great success. Please see below a list of key dates that will support the TAPP and the fete itself.

As a parent or carer you are automatically a member of TAPP and if you are able to support by giving your time prior to, during or after the fete it would be very much appreciated.  The children thoroughly enjoy the Summer Fete and I am sure there will be a buzz in school that day.

Please pray for the children in Year Three children this weekend as they celebrate their First Holy Communion on Saturday with their families and friends.  They have all worked very hard with their preparation and we look forward to celebrating the receiving of the sacrament for the first time.  Well done Year Three.

Have a lovely weekend.

Reception School Trip

Last week, Year 6 attended the Young Citizens Challenge at Wyre Forest Fire Station. It consisted of a series of workshops that addressed various safety issues and was delivered by the Police, the Fire Service and other partner agencies. We had a fantastic morning and learnt a lot!

It was surprising to learn how quickly fires can spread. In the event of a fire, we should get out straight away and call 999.
Izabela

It was interesting to learn about water safety. If you see someone drowning you should never jump in after them. Look for a life ring and call 999.
Mihaela

You should never touch anything if there is a sign telling you to keep out. Electricity can be very dangerous!
Macey

You should never give your personal information out! Always ask to see ID and don't fall for scams.
Katie

Carrying a knife does not make you safer. You could go to prison.
Tyler

We should be careful when crossing any roads. A person would always come off worse than a car.
Niamh

The reception children had a fantastic time at Bishops Woods on Wednesday. The children were so excited, as it was their first ever school trip! The children enjoyed the short journey in the coach and was welcomed by Steve when we arrived. Throughout the day, the children enjoyed retelling traditional tales, such as the Three Little Pigs, the Three Billy Goats Gruff, and the Gingerbread Man. The children used straw, sticks and bricks to create houses for the pigs.  Overall, we had a fantastic day exploring in the woods.

Regular attendance at school means that your child will make the most of their education and improve their chances later on in life. At St Ambrose, good attendance is of high importance and we strive to have at least 96% attendance. Please help us with this target. If you need any support, then school is here to help so that your child can get the very best out of the education we provide.

We will continue sending out regular push notifications about attendance so that you are aware if you child falls below our 96% target and we are working with Louise Howles, our Education Welfare Officer to support us with improvements.

Please see the ‘Come and Pray with Us’ sessions below.

On the afternoon, please come to the School Reception (Office) and sign in. Grandparents and younger siblings are welcome to attend.
