Message from Mrs Laskey

Congratulations to Year 4 for their fantastic assembly this morning on the Anglo-Saxons! The children brought history to life with excellent characterisation, confidently sharing fascinating facts they had learned during their topic. Their delivery of lines, acting, and singing were all outstanding, showing how hard they had worked to prepare for this performance.
It was clear how much effort and enthusiasm went into every part of the assembly, and the children should be incredibly proud of themselves. Their creativity, teamwork, and confidence shone through from start to finish.
Thank you to Miss Noble and the staff in Year 4 for preparing the children for their excellent performance. Thank you to all the families who supported the children with costumes and to those who came to watch and encourage them on the day. Your support means a great deal and helps make moments like these truly special.
Well done once again to everyone involved – a brilliant performance and a memorable celebration of learning!

In this morning’s assembly, we proudly presented our usual Virtues Certificates and Handwriting Awards – congratulations to all our recipients!
However, there was an additional certificate awarded to all the children this week for their hard work and attentiveness to their writing. Miss Brewer and I spent some time on Wednesday looking through a wide range of writing books across the school. We were absolutely amazed by the high standard of writing taking place in lessons. From thoughtful word choices to well-crafted sentence structures, it was clear that all our children are working hard and taking pride in their writing.
Well done to everyone – your creativity, effort, and progress really stood out. Keep up the fantastic work – we are incredibly proud of you all!

Last Sunday, we celebrated Pentecost, often called the birthday of the Church. This important feast marks the moment the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles, filling them with courage and guiding them to share the Good News with the world. It reminds us of the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives today.
This weekend, we reflect on Trinity Sunday, a celebration of the central mystery of our faith – One God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These two special Sundays remind us of God’s presence, love, and unity, and invite us to grow deeper in faith as we continue our journey through the Church year.
This Sunday is Father’s Day, a special time to say thank you to all the dads, grandads, and father figures in our lives. It’s a chance to celebrate the love, support, and care they give us every day. Whether it's through a card, a kind word, a homemade gift, or simply spending time together, let’s show our appreciation for everything they do.

We wish all our wonderful fathers and father figures a very Happy Father’s Day.

Have a lovely weekend.

The Jubilee Prayer

Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us
in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your Kingdom.

May your grace transform us
into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos
in the sure expectation
of a new heaven and a new earth,
when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,
your glory will shine eternally.

May the grace of the Jubilee
reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread
the joy and peace of our Redeemer
throughout the earth.
To you our God, eternally blessed,
be glory and praise for ever.

Amen

THERE WILL BE NO TEAPOT TIME ON TUESDAY 17TH JUNE.

Can we please remind you that Teapot Time takes place every Tuesday morning after you have dropped your child off at school. This is a wonderful and informal opportunity for parents to ask about school related issues. You also get a hot drink and a biscuit!

Everyone is warmly invited to attend.

Please can we remind you to download and use the easy fundraising app when shopping as the school can benefit from free donations.

Thank you for your continued support.

Attendance

Please see below for summer holiday clubs. Remember to come back and check each week as new clubs will be added.

Regular attendance at school means that your child will make the most of their education and improve their chances later on in life. At St Ambrose, good attendance is of high importance and we strive to have at least 96% attendance. Please help us with this target. If you need any support, then school is here to help so that your child can get the very best out of the education we provide.

The Attendance Policy 2024-2025 states that:
Parents are asked to inform the school before 8.50a.m. on their child's first day of absence. This can be done via telephone (01562 823568) or email (enquiry_amb@emmausmac.com).  Parents are asked to keep the school informed of the child's continued absence if it does not constitute the 48 hours rule for the sickness bug.

We will continue sending out regular communications about attendance so that you are aware if you child falls below our 96% target and we are working with Louise Howles, our Education Welfare Officer to support us with improvements.

Times of the School Day

8.40a.m. Gates open

8.50a.m. Gates close and registration in class

8.50a.m. - 9.20a.m. Late before close of register

After 9.20a.m. - Late (unauthorised)

The UCM (United Catholic Mothers) meet every other Monday evening at 7pm in term time and would like to extend a warm welcome to anyone who would like to become a member. They play a pivotal role fundraising activities for the Church and also devote their time to helping out at school functions such as school fete, holy communion etc. You wouldn't necessarily have to come to all the meetings but any availability to help out at functions would be very much appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Mrs Brocklesby and Mrs Laskey
