Message from Mrs Laskey

Last Saturday was a truly beautiful and memorable occasion as our children made their First Holy Communion, receiving Jesus in the Eucharist for the very first time. The day was filled with joy, reverence, and celebration, and we were especially grateful that the rain stayed away, allowing families to fully enjoy this special moment together. It created lasting memories for both the children and their loved ones.

We extend our sincere thanks to Canon Lamb, the altar servers, the organist, and the flower arrangers for helping to make the Mass so moving and meaningful. Our appreciation also goes to the UCM for organising the wonderful breakfast afterwards, to the families for generously providing food, and to Lily’s mum for the beautiful celebration cake.

A special thank you to Miss Morgan and the Year Three staff for guiding and supporting the children so faithfully on their journey of faith throughout the year. On Monday, Year Three continued celebrations with a party, recognising their hard work in RE.

Today, Friday 12th June, we celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a special day in the Church that reminds us of Jesus’ deep and abiding love for each one of us. The Sacred Heart is a symbol of His compassion, mercy, and enduring care, inviting us to trust in Him and to share His love with others through kindness, forgiveness, and service. It encourages us to reflect on how we can follow Jesus’ example in our daily lives, especially within our school community.

Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Sacred Heart of Jesus,
we place all our trust in you.
Fill our hearts with your love,
help us to be kind and forgiving,
and guide us to follow your way each day.
Amen.

We wish everyone a lovely and restful weekend.
