The Jubilee Prayer

Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us
in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your Kingdom.

May your grace transform us
into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos
in the sure expectation
of a new heaven and a new earth,
when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,
your glory will shine eternally.

May the grace of the Jubilee
reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread
the joy and peace of our Redeemer
throughout the earth.
To you our God, eternally blessed,
be glory and praise for ever.

Amen

Message from Mrs Laskey

Confirmation and the Feast of St Ambrose - Forming Christ-centred pilgrims of hope with kind hearts, questioning minds and a thirst for knowledge.

Last weekend we were blessed with a truly joyful celebration of Confirmation. The children showed great reverence throughout the Mass, and it was wonderful to see so many families, friends, and parishioners gathered in support of our young people. The strong link between our parish and school was clearly visible, and the Confirmation Mass was a beautiful reminder of the faith community that surrounds our children each day.

Fittingly, the celebration took place on the feast of St Ambrose (moved from 7th December to the 6th December), a saint known for his wisdom, courage, and commitment to truth. In school, on Monday we spent time exploring his life and reflecting on the qualities he modelled. It has been a meaningful week for everyone involved, and we are incredibly proud of each child as they continue to grow in faith, confidence, and service.

Season of Advent - Forming Christ-centred pilgrims of hope with kind hearts and a thirst for justice.

Thank you to the families who came to Sunday Mass to light the next Advent candles on the class Advent wreaths. This week we celebrate the third week of Advent, Gaudete Sunday, which reminds us that we are halfway through our Advent journey and invites us to rejoice as we prepare for the coming of Christ.

Thank you all for your support with the Reverse Advent Calendar and for bringing in donations for Father Hudson Caritas. These were delivered today, and we had a grand total of 195 items. Your kindness and generosity truly shine—especially during this season of Advent.

Christmas Bazaar - kind hearts

To continue strengthening our parish–school link, children from Year Three and members of the school choir sang Christmas songs at the Parish Christmas Bazaar. Their enthusiasm added wonderful festive spirit and showed great commitment. Thank you to all who supported the event and to all those who have donated bottles, chocolate and cakes over the last few weeks.  It was very much appreciated.

Christmas Nativity - Forming Christ-centred pilgrims of hope with kind hearts

Well done to our wonderful Reception and Key Stage One children for their beautiful Christmas Nativity. Each and every child shone with such confidence, warmth, and joy. It was truly special to watch them share their gifts so proudly and to see their hard work come together in such a meaningful way.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the dedicated staff who prepared, guided, and supported the children with such care. Your creativity, patience, and commitment made this performance one to remember.

And thank you to all the families and friends who joined us. Your presence helped make the occasion even more special as we came together as a community to celebrate and to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.

What a wonderful start to the festive season—well done, everyone. We look forward to Nursery and Key Stage Two carols next week.

Rudolph Run and Christmas Jumpers - Kind hearts and a hunger for justice

Today the children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the Rudolph Run for Kemp Hospice. With their antlers on and big smiles all around, they were active, enthusiastic, and full of festive cheer. It was wonderful to see them having such a great time while supporting a truly important cause.

Kemp Hospice plays a vital role in our community, offering compassionate care and support to individuals and families when they need it most. Taking part in events like this helps our children understand the value of kindness, community, and giving back.
