Our Mission Statement:

VISION AND AIMS

Vision:

The school will be widely recognised:

  • As a Catholic community that encourages everyone to realise the gifts they have received from God to their full potential.
  • As a centre of excellence that values all its members, offering a broad, enriched and challenging curriculum.
  • For pupils who are happy, confident, caring, independent and well-equipped to take on the challenges of life.
  • As a secure and flexible learning environment that nurtures and inspires everyone.

Aims

The school will:

  • By example and positive teaching, provide children with a respect for the values and needs of others in their community, including those of different races and creeds.
  • Provide and maintain an environment in which all children and adults can work happily together.
  • Ensure that every child makes the best possible progress in English, Maths, Science and ICT and lay foundations of basic knowledge, key skills and understanding in all areas of National Curriculum
  • Deliver a challenging, wide and enriched curriculum, with the choice for every child to learn a foreign language, make music and take part in sport.
  • Develop close relationships and links between parents and school, so that there is a shared understanding of the aims and values of the school and the roles and responsibilities within the partnership.
  • Provide high quality information to parents about their children's education through formal and informal meetings and regular written reports.
  • Maintain close links with the parish, local and wider community and encourage children to see the importance of their role within these areas.

The pupils will:

  • Develop an awareness of Catholic morals and values, the wonder and mystery of life, and a reverence for them.
  • Develop an awareness and understanding of the physical world and its peoples and a sense of value for its resources and sustainability.
  • Develop enjoyment for learning, lively, enquiring minds with the ability to ask questions, argue rationally and apply themselves to tasks and physical skills.
  • Develop an understanding of their own worth, both physical and value in their family, school and community.

Mission and Values - Our Catholic Foundation

At the heart of what we do is the belief that each one of us, adult and child, is made in God's image and likeness and is well loved by him. We believe also that each one of us is equal in God's sight. This is the core of Christ's message and it underlies all that we seek to do here in school.

We aim to develop a whole school community that is centred on God; where the Catholic faith, its Christian values, doctrines and attitudes to life will be fostered; where the religious and spiritual life of the child will be nurtured, and where the child will learn to play a part both in the parish and in the wider community of different races and faiths; where they will learn to respect all people.

Our mission and values are taught to us by Jesus Christ - what He said, what he did and what He told us to do. These values are:

Respect - Respect for others, respect for the school building, respect for the values and beliefs of others, respect for ourselves, respect for our Catholic community, respect for other religions, countries and cultures.

Forgiveness - Following Jesus' teachings by seeking to reconcile our differences, by saying sorry and by forgiving others and giving opportunities to make things better.

Truth - Knowing that telling the truth and being honest is always the right way.

Kindness - Trying our best to show kindness to others in all that we say and do, having kind hands and kind words for everyone - even those we find it hard to get on with sometimes.

Equality - Every human being is equal and valuable and loved by God. Everyone in our school is equal, unique and special and we treat everyone fairly. Everyone is equally special regardless of their gender, religion, ethnicity or cultural background.
